Stone chip too large for repair?

I got this stone chip driving on the freeway driving virtually 65-70 MPH when something hit my windshield. Called the insurance and they prepare for me to get a complimentary stone chip repair from Speedy Auto Glass. I went there and drove my machine in their garage until the guy said the rock chip is as well big and I just got to await for it to cleft more and replace the windshield.

I didn't call back it was that big only I don't accept any expertise so I don't know. Do you call back this stone chip is also large to exist repaired. I took pictures of the chip on my auto with a quarter next to the scrap.

I notice it ironic that it was a speedy automobile glass commercial (many years ago) that got me thinking about the windshield repair business organization. They showed a elementary bullseye being repaired -- "at present y'all see information technology... now you don't"

I idea that idiot box commercial was pretty cool. It'southward ironic now that I am in the windshield repair business organization doing repairs that they say can't be done.

Thanks for sharing the pictures - and yes, this blazon of pause is repairable. It is an extremely common type of break and information technology tin be repaired by any competent windshield repair tech who knows what he/she is doing.

Excellent task taking those pictures. What camera are you using? And would you listen if I used them for a website I'grand looking to build?

yeah, no problem for a repair and I see no cracks coming off of it either. I fixed 1 today virtually one one/2 that size with 4 3 inch cracks coming off it. End effect was very skilful and the client was very happy and asked me to come dorsum about some on his wife'due south vehicle.

It looks as if information technology is merely beneath your field of vision and so I would have information technology repaired sooner than later.

Where are you lot located?

Corking Photos. Hard to tell if information technology falls in the acute expanse though. Kind of looks like it might. No worries though this blazon of break tin easily be repaired. One thing to keep in listen is that this type of pause volition leave a little more than scaring then if information technology is in the acute area it might be a disruptive blemish for you. That is your call though. I definately would non go back to the same shop as they take a vested intrest in selling you the bigger ticket item, the windshield. Detect someone who does lots of repairs and turns out quality. Good luck.

VCi15-
I would recall twice almost going back to the aforementioned place that wants to just supercede your windshield. It might be worth your fourth dimension to find a private reoair merely guy or a shop that will repair it.

And thanks for letting me use those pictures, they are much ameliorate than anything I've been taking. I'm using a Sony DSC-V1 which doesn't exercise and then well at focusing on glass.
